Pattern & Syllabus – CMAT

CMAT (Common Management Aptitude Test) is a three hours computer-based online entrance exam for admission into programmes like MBA, PGDM and PGCM offered by the B-schools across India. National Testing Agency (NTA) is responsible for formulating the CMAT exam pattern. CMAT is conducted to evaluate the candidate’s ability across various academic segments. The overall difficulty level of the CMAT exam is moderate but the options are close enough to make the questions tricky. A candidate should be careful while solving such questions. The exam is generally conducted in online mode during the month January, in two shifts (Morning and Afternoon).
Our experts have analyzed the CMAT exam pattern from previous years which includes the question paper pattern, marking scheme and the topics related to each section. Following are the highlights of CMAT exam pattern- The total number of questions is 100 divided into four distinct sections, namely, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, Quantitative ability & Data Interpretation and General Awareness, each section having 25 multiple choice questions with four options for each question. Each question carries 4 marks. There is no sectional time limit. Total time allotted is 180 minutes. The maximum score is 400. The general CMAT exam pattern is revealed in the following table –
